Yaya Toure has passed a medical in London and is "close to signing a new contract" according to his agent Dimitry Seluk. The 35-year-old former Manchester City midfielder has been a free agent since ending his eight years association with the Premier League Champions end of last season. Toure has been linked to reunite with former manager Manuel Pellegrini at West Ham but ex-Real Madrid and Malaga coach denied the move for Ivorian two weeks ago. It appears the African star is poised to complete his next move, though, with agent Seluk stating a deal was close on Tuesday.

The Police on Monday arrested popular Nollywood actor, Mr Jim Iyke, at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) Lagos for assaulting a male security staff of Dana Air, but the actor was later released after tendering an apology. Spokesman for Dana Air, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, who confirmed the incident to Daily Sun said the action of Mr. Iyke constituted a breach of the Nigerian civil aviation regulations and that the actor was arrested and also denied boarding by the airline following the assault on the security personnel. “He was very unruly and slapped one of our staff and that’s against civil regulation laws and so we got him arrested by the Police and we also denied him boarding our aircraft,” said Ezenwa. “But when he realised he had made a mistake and showed remorse by tendering a written apology to the staff and management of the airline we had to forgive him and let him off the hook,” added Ezenwa. Sad! Ede Poly Student Beaten to Death by Angry Mob

A student of the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun State has been reportedly beaten to death an angry mob for accidentally killing about five people in an auto crash. The Building Technology student identified as Fisayo was said to have just concluded his final year Exams some days back, when him and two other of his friends were on their way out. It was gathered that they were all drunk and high on Drugs. It was also reported that, the victims involved were Post UME students as well as Indigenes of the community. It appeared that Fisayo allegedly knocked down a victim at first, while he was being chased by a mob, he coincidentally knocked down another victim, and later hit a commercial bike rider along with a passenger. But this time he was out of luck and was held down by the people around. It was gathered that his friends were able to escape but Fisayo was nabbed by the angry mob. He was reportedly beaten and stoned to death after his car was destroyed.
